I'm wondering how big blogging really is.
I know that I was a 'founder' of sorts of another blog "Blog Collective." That particular blog had to be brought back to life once and it, unfortunately, looks to be on it's last legs again. It attribites to many things, but I think it boils down to the group of friends that was, falling to the past. Happening a lot with friends that live great distances apart, it's a sad part of life but will continue to occur. It's something that also happened in my family before, and with the people that I've been stationed with, who I told (and fully intended to do so) I would "keep in touch."
People come and go in our lives, but we're still the same in the end.

rules on not posting

You'd think that there would be some kind of a mental rule against not posting. Maybe an alarm that would go off in your head saying something along the lines of, "...oh neglectful one, you might want to post a little of your view of the world in that space of cyber-real estate that you took a few hours making up..."

Who knows.

Actually, I do know. My alarm went off a few times at work and a few times when I was doing nothing other than post whoring on the stunt sites that I go to all the time when I'm bored.
I could take time and think something through and then make a point of it, but I never did that in the past, so why would I take time to do it again.

Things that I have a concrete opinion:
There's lots of hate going on in the internet on the sites I go to. The problem with sportbike stunting, is that it takes a certain type of person to be into it. We're generally attention type people, not being scared or easily intimidated from making a scene, loud and occasionaly heavy partiers. So when a lot of these types congregate on a website, to speak their opinion about stunting and the world perspective, a lot of hating and name calling goes on. I'm generally pretty disappointed at it because all the guys and girls who go there to talk (normally the guys talking crap) are adults and have real jobs and everything that would imply that they are mature individuals.
Many people have no concept of what customer service is, at all. I think that the "please" and "thank you" parts of common courtesy are gone from many people. "Sir" and "Ma'am" are also pretty much on the way out too. I volunteer at a middle school once or twice a week in a program that helps kids in school relate what their learning and what they see to later on in life needs, and it's all in the name of economics. I like the interraction with the kids but we've lately been takling about getting a job and they're suprised that you should call people "sir and ma'am" and even tuck your shirt in and get a haircut before you go to a job interview. Maybe it's because they're in 8th grade, but I think that it's more than that.
